TRUCK DRIVER

License & Certification Requirements:

✅ Valid commercial driver's license (Professional Driver's License with appropriate restriction codes)
✅ Willingness to convert to the appropriate America, Canada and Australia provincial license class
✅ Clean driving record/abstract with no major violations in the past 3–5 years
✅ Air brake certification (or willingness to obtain one) — often required for Class 1 licenses in America, Canada and Australia
✅ Hazmat certification, if transporting hazardous materials (asset/role-dependent)

Experience:

✅ Minimum 1–3 years of verifiable professional driving experience (specify: long-haul, regional, local delivery)
✅ Experience operating tractor-trailers, straight trucks, or specific vehicle types relevant to the role
✅ Experience with logbook/hours-of-service record keeping
✅ Winter/adverse weather driving experience is a strong asset, given America, Canada and Australia road conditions
✅ Cross-border driving experience an asset (for routes involving the US)

Education:

✅ High school diploma or equivalent
✅ Completion of a recognized truck driver training program

Skills:

✅ Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
✅ Basic mechanical knowledge for pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections
✅ Route planning and time management skills
✅ Basic English proficiency for communication with dispatch, safety instructions, and documentation
✅ Familiarity with GPS navigation and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
✅ Good physical stamina for long hours on the road

Physical Requirements:

✅ Physically fit to pass a America, Canada and Australia commercial driver medical examination
✅ Able to sit for extended periods and handle long-haul driving schedules
✅ Able to lift and handle cargo (specify: e.g., up to 25 kg) for loading/unloading duties, if applicable
✅ Good vision and hearing, meeting America, Canada and Australia commercial licensing medical standards

Immigration & Legal:

✅ Willingness to relocate to America, Canada and Australia for the duration of the work permit
✅ Willingness to undergo medical examination and criminal background/security clearance
✅ Valid passport and eligibility to obtain a America, Canada and Australia work permit
✅ Clean employment record with verifiable references from previous employers
✅ Willingness to complete America, Canada and Australia road knowledge/orientation training, if provided by employer

Key Responsibilities:
Driving & Transport:

✅ Safely operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks over long-haul, regional, or local routes
✅ Transport goods/cargo to designated destinations within scheduled timeframes
✅ Follow assigned routes and adjust for road conditions, weather, or traffic delays
✅ Comply with all provincial and federal traffic laws and safety regulations
✅ Adapt driving techniques for winter and adverse weather conditions common in America, Canada

Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance:

✅ Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues
✅ Report any vehicle defects, damages, or maintenance needs to dispatch/supervisor promptly
✅ Perform basic on-road troubleshooting or minor repairs, if qualified
✅ Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and road-ready before each trip

Cargo Handling & Documentation:

✅ Load, secure, and unload cargo safely, following proper handling procedures
✅ Verify cargo against shipping manifests/bills of lading for accuracy
✅ Complete and maintain accurate logbooks, including hours of service (HOS) records
✅ Use electronic logging devices (ELDs) to track driving hours in compliance with regulations
✅ Maintain delivery records, receipts, and required documentation for each shipment

Safety & Compliance:

✅ Follow all America, Canada and Australia trucking safety regulations, including hours-of-service limits and rest requirements
✅ Wear and use required safety equipment (seatbelts, PPE for loading/unloading, if applicable)
✅ Comply with hazardous materials handling protocols, if transporting regulated goods
✅ Report accidents, incidents, or safety concerns to dispatch/supervisor immediately
✅ Maintain valid licensing, certifications, and medical clearance as required

Communication & Coordination:

✅ Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding route progress, delays, or issues
✅ Coordinate delivery/pickup schedules with clients, warehouses, or distribution centers
✅ Provide accurate ETAs and update dispatch on any changes to delivery timelines
✅ Maintain professional communication with clients during pickups/deliveries

Border Crossing (if applicable)

✅ Prepare and present required documentation for cross-border shipments (US routes)
✅ Comply with customs regulations and border crossing procedures
✅ Maintain any required cross-border certifications (e.g., FAST card, if applicable)
