Requirements Experience
✅ Minimum 6–12 months of verifiable experience in farm work, crop production, livestock handling, or greenhouse operations (specify based on role)
✅ Experience with the specific commodity/crop type relevant to your farm (fruit, vegetables, grain, dairy, poultry, etc.)
✅ Machine/equipment operation experience is a strong asset for higher-paying roles (tractor, harvester, forklift)
✅ Prior experience working in outdoor/agricultural environments preferred
Physical Requirements:
✅ Physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual labor for extended periods
✅ Able to lift heavy loads (specify: e.g., up to 25–50 kg)
✅ Comfortable with prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and stooping
✅ Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and, if applicable, in greenhouse/indoor environments
✅ Able to work long hours during peak harvest/planting seasons, including early mornings and weekends
Education:
✅ No formal education required for general labour roles (asset, not mandatory)
✅ High school diploma or equivalent preferred for supervisory or equipment operator roles
✅ Relevant agricultural training/certification an asset
Skills
✅ Basic knowledge of farming practices, planting, harvesting, sorting, and packing
✅ Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols precisely
✅ Basic English proficiency for safety communication and instructions
✅ Attention to detail for quality control/grading of produce (if applicable)
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certifications (role-dependent)
✅ Valid driver's license (for equipment operators or roles requiring on-site driving)
✅ Pesticide/chemical handling certification (if applicable to role)
✅ Food safety handling certification (for packing/processing roles)
✅ WHMIS or equivalent workplace safety training
Immigration & Legal
✅ Willingness to relocate to Canada for the duration of the contract (seasonal or full-time)
✅ Willingness to undergo medical examination and security/criminal background clearance
✅ Valid passport and eligibility to obtain a Canadian work permit under the TFWP Agricultural Stream
✅ Willingness to commit to the full contract duration (early termination can affect future eligibility)
✅ Able to adapt to on-site or provided housing arrangements
